I was there for the Friday Seafood Buffet. Even though I came in about 9:15 and they close at 10:00 PM, The buffet had a large range of selections. The service was wonderful. The environment was very nice. I just had two problems. The first was handled well. The clarified butter that came with the crab claws tasted rancid. The waiter took what I had so that the chef could check into it. He offered to get me a fresh serving. The second may be just a personal opinion. I don't think any restaurant with a status like the Mountain View should serve a seafood salad that includes surimi (Krab stick, or what ever term you want to use for fish that is stripped of flavor so it can be artificially flavored like crab, lobster, or whatever). I especially enjoyed the salmon dishes, fresh mozzarella, and olives.

I tried the Valentines Buffet here after I couldn't get into any of my favorite restaurants. Lesson learned to book early! I figured it would be ok considering the reputation of the resort. Instead I was left embarrased and disappointed. Thankfully my date was gracious about it. They stuck us in an ugly overflow room which was poorly lit with the tables having huge ill fitting tablecloths on them that had to be bunched under the legs. All this extra fabric was in the way of our feet. This over flow room had zero atmosphere to say the least. They sat us right away then we had to wait over 10 minutes for anyone to talk to us and take our drink order so we could get started on the buffet. The food on the buffet had plenty of variety and was ok. Definitely buffet quality though. This isn't fine dining by any means. At $40 per person I felt cheated and more importantly I felt it left a bad impression on what was an important evening for me. I go to restaurants a great deal and almost never review them. But when something is very bad I feel the need. Maybe the regular menu isn't as bad but they screwed me over on this evening and I won't forget it!

Thanksgiving dinner was amazing! Service was great and the staff was more than happy to get anything we asked for! Awesome view from our dining table and the food selection was far better than most places I've ever been. Strongly recommend for thanksgiving dinner.

Dinner reservation. We were not told there would be a convention of 300 on site and also assumed there would be the usual oysters, shrimp, and steamed crab legs (Friday only). We've had better buffets at a third the price at Golden Corral and Country Buffet. The beef was presliced and cool to the touch, steamed vegetables were raw, salad bar unspectacular. This was clearly a budget buffet for 300, not for a couple at $19- $30 each! The waiter was inattentive, not offering iced tea or beverage. Too busy with other groups around us. About the only thing we liked was the view. Will not return.

Went here for a pre-holiday luncheon yesterday, which was my third visit. As always, the place was attractively decorated, seating was prompt and service was excellent. The view of the mountains makes the place. We hit the holiday buffet, which had terrific soup (butternut squash), salads and sandwich fixings. Should have stopped there....the hot buffet was very uninspiring and lacking in flavor (apparently all the salt on premises is being held back for snow & ice melting). The hot special was a flatbread with roast beef and hollandaise....it was tasty but not like any hollandaise I've ever had. The desserts were nice, except the chocolate strawberries were green, rather than ripe. This is still a nice place for a luncheon; however, the chef could pretty easily bump this up to a 4 star if he had more interest in his buffet. I've had great meals previously, so perhaps ordering off the menu is best.

Best view for brunch and great service!! Not one complaint! Wait staff is extremely friendly and accommodating and the omelette/waffle station is fantastic.

Very good breakfast & buffet BUT on Sunday it's buffet ONLY and it's $41.00 a person! Wow!

Awful food. Enjoyed the hotel we stayed at and very nice, views. We were hoping the food was gonna be good but if you are thinking about eating there, dont. Go to the local Thai place right next to it, way better food and way cheaper! The steak Nachos we had made me want to throw up in my hand, crusty Luke warm cheese and minimal steak fixings. On the nachos was pre bagged chips and minimal ingredients. Waitress was nice, Chef that made our nachos almost mocking and did not touch the Nachos after we asked him to re heat them. Would not recommend and would not eat again

Speaking ONLY about the food... it was awful. 18 of us booked a table for the Friday night buffet - "rib and seafood". The price with one glass of wine, and tip came to about $60 per person ($38 for the buffet alone). The food was tastless, mediocre hotel food... and certainly not worth this kind of money. We were very disappointed.

My review is from eating at the Roy Rogers bar at the hotel, I'm sure the same kitchen is used for the more fancy restaurant. Well, first of all it's expensive. We ordered one coke, one meat pizza/flatbread and one truffle fries. I tipped $5 and my total was $36 yikes! The pizza was the real rip off at $17 and it was small. The food was good but not out of this world. They had radio and live piano playing at the same time which made it an awful atmosphere. It was convenient since we stayed the night in a room, that's the best part about it.

You come here for the view, clearly. This place does not have any competition, so you get what you get. We had a very large party (16+) and the consensus was the same from the entire group....it was ok. A few things that will help you forget that the food is subpar and overpriced.... 1. Google "sunset times for Colorado Springs" & make reservations that will lend to a sunset view 2. request a table that does not FACE the sunsetting windows (I couldn't see the people sitting across from me for at least 20 minutes while the beautiful sun was glaring in my face) 3. Consume alcoholic beverages 4. Bring a jacket because any restaurant with these views is going to be cold when you're snapping your selfie at the top of the mountain

Had 10 members of our family go to Thanksgiving dinner. It was disappointing. Not a lot of options for vegans or vegetarians. No dairy free deserts, not even fresh berries. There was no Pecan pie, no cherry pie, no apple pie and no espresso after dinner. For $60 per person, I would have expected much more...... The service staff is not the same professionals they once had. They were spread thin and we had to wait to have plates cleared or get clean silverware. The view is magnificent, but just go have a drink at the bar and walk out on the deck to take in the mountains!

nice view, typical resort hotel fare, overpriced resort food, nothing special service good buffet hit or miss they scale is back or even cancel depending on occupancy better value/meal ordering off menu

We stayed at the resort for two nights this weekend with the kids. We had the breakfast buffet and the Friday seafood buffet. We loved that the kids ate for free. The breakfast buffet lacked some of our favorites so it could have used more variety; it did't have biscuits and gravy or eggs benedict which my husband wanted so he was a bit dissappointed. It had a great omlette station though. Friday night seafood buffet was very good. It's not as good as say the Bellagio buffet in Vegas, but it was good for Colorado. I'd say it was better than a buffet you get in Central City or at Fresh Fish in Denver. The prime rib was good and the oysters were great! I would definately return for another mini vacation and meal here.

We stayed at the hotel and when down to the bar to watch the game. They have an amazing TV, maybe like 700 inch !!! And some pool tables, w an amazing view. I thought the atmosphere was pretty good. I ordered a Pumpkin Martini & my wife had a cabernet, they wine list was just ok. The drinks were good !! Then I had the duck wings in Blue Berry BBQ sauce. They were darn good and messy. My wife had beef tenderloin salad that was out of this world good (for a salad). We realized we left some luggage at our last hotel in Trinidad and our waitress arranged for it to be picked up and delivered to our hotel. Great service !!!! Great food !! Great tv !

Brunch with Santa was delicious. Besides the fact Santa was not actually having brunch but sitting outside the restaurant it was very delicious. Bottomless Champagne or Mimosa's is a great way to win me over though. Fresh shrimp cocktails, delicious cheeses and breakfast food. Prime rib and fresh made waffles that were to die for. One of the better brunch buffets I have been to but at $40 a pop that can certainly break the bank. Not sure we really got our $40 worth but it was a nice one time thing.

We booked a table here for my birthday through Open Table. Two of us decided to do the soup/salad/dessert buffet for $21 and I did the soup/salad/dessert/hot entree buffet for $32. There were 4 different salads to choose from (jicama & cucumber, spinach & watermelon, potato, and a regular salad you could assemble yourself but without a ton of topping options). Sliced white bread was at that station along with a cheese plate with dried fruit. The soups were disappointing for a buffet- there was only one soup (vegetable) & I expect variety when paying for a buffet. The hot entree buffet had an ok meat selection, but a lot of it was overdone/dry - anything that had a sauce with it like the fish was good though. Roasted potatoes and a dish of mixed vegetables were the only side options- again lacking variety. The desserts were more plentiful- the cheesecake was great. Service was wonderful. Definitely overpriced...I'm not sure if there are better options in CO Springs though.

Good food, especially breakfast. I recommend the breakfast buffet. Dinner was a little overpriced, and the pasta we had was very heavy. THe view is astounding, so you will want to eat there before sunset.
